Losing a wallet then shopping for one somehow temps me into rebuying everything else that will surround said wallet. Like a new purse. But I still haven't found my perfect wallet, this one almost does it except for the size. Everything else is a slight upgrade, but I can vouch for are the Korres lip glaze in Pomegranate (super moisturizing and perfect tint of color - can't live without it!), green tea mints, and the headphones (but I broke mine). A similar situation happened when I got a new computer and decided to change my whole room. But this is a lot cheaper. And slightly more sane?

At an earlier point in my life, memories unforgotten, my parents used to take me for an hour drive to the city. Exploring it for myself, outside of their supervision, gives me a new appreciation for this city that gets better with each visit.

This was taken the day we got to San Francisco after a peaceful 5AM drive from Orange County. Naps are usually inevitable after hotel check-in. But we were wired (or delusional) from lack of sleep paired with McDonalds iced-coffee and the weather was pleasantly Orange County-esque (unlike the 80 degree winter I just left), so we walked a few blocks down to finally try Swan Oyster Depot. Clearly killed the wait time by snapping a few pictures before it got awkward for other oyster goers. I can vouch that it is the freshest seafood I’ve ever had (the combination salad, omg) foreshadowing the rest of the weekend with lots and lots of oysters.

Just came back from a quick getaway to San Francisco and plopped straight into the beginning of a school quarter. I have so many great pictures from this weekend – can’t wait to post it! Wore this outfit a little back at the Lab where I sat in the hat store and talked to Christine for two hours about paranormal activity. I guess I didn’t really need to sleep that night.

Really trying to break these shoes in right now. Not that they’re uncomfortable or anything, just, being 7 inches taller and imagining all the possible ways I can twist my ankles makes me break sweat from nervousness. They’re so pretty but attract a lot of attention, or is this what it feels like to be a six foot female? But I am happy about wearing this dress in January versus waiting till summer. Love the flare in the sleeves and hem. Imagining it on the beach with some In N’ Out on a really hot day. Can’t complain – I’m just two thirds of the way there.

Probably one of the best Mexican places I've been to! Señor Baja in Norwak. Totally a dumpy looking place, but their fish tacos are so, so good. Mondays and Wednesdays are just a dollar!

My friend Jillian picked this book up, and now I want it. It will make coffee tables ten times more attractive.

Recently re-downloaded Sims 3 and starting building homes from hacked fake money - gave me a new found love for simple, open spaces.

I'm really terrible at documenting my day-to-day's through the eye of my camera, but my phone sees a lot. One of the pleasures of maintaining a blog is being able to look back and relish memories otherwise forgotten. Not that I post a whole lot of personal stuff here... but each post is its own entity. I came across this post I wrote in 2008. So weird reminiscing and how much I've grown; I can at least say I still feel the same way. 2011 has treated me well, and I thank you all for reading! There is so much to look forward to in 2012 - hope you all join.

Some memories (not in chronological order): went to a few concerts: Glee Live, surprised my friend with Lykke Li tickets, saw Ellie Goulding perform on a rooftop in Manhattan, fell in love with Foster the People; found a secret spot to watch Disneyland fireworks (as well more than quadrupling my annual pass value); explored Dallas; watched my baby cousin grow; met one of my idols, Kelly Wearstler, and had dinner with her (omg!); visited Conde Naste for my Lucky Magazine shoot; but most importantly got closer than ever to the people who I care most about.

Some resolutions: be behind the camera more often, graduate UCI, invest in camera equipment, keep my thoughts and closet clean, travel and go to shows, purify emotional and physical toxins, drink more wine, share my inspirations, and don't get comfortable. All looking towards a tangible future. xo

Not sure why my two favorite Christmas songs are so bleak, but this and Last Christmas by Jimmy Eat World are on repeat this time of year.

Been on a huge Korean food binge lately. My best lady friend will be proud. Had this delicious bibimbap dish at Cho Dang Tofu House in Cerritos.

I've been using a fur coin pouch as my wallet for a year now. There is enough spilt food lingering the fur for me to finally opt for a new wallet. Small is preferable, and this Commé des Garçons wallet is sick - I'm pissed it's sold out! So, this Helmut Lang is a close second.

I've had Wearstler-fever for a while, but another designer recently caught my eye, Dallas, TX native, Leslie Pritchard. Her home is amazing, and she own a shop selling vintage furniture called Again and Again. Sort of a more wholesome, wearable version of Wearstler? This whole year I somehow managed to deviate from jeans thus becoming a skirt person. But tights are never within reach for consideration to solve this too-cold-for-a-skirt situation, so the weather transition helped perfect my inevitable jean collection with three in rotation for daily abuse: this, these, and a pair of those waxed JBrand jeans. Also, extremely stoked about these boots. They are so perfect and comfortable in so many adjectives I can't think of - Thank you Kate!

Had an amazing weekend two weekends ago when my friends took me out for all you-can-eat Korean BBQ and ended the night with a long session of karaoke. Unnaturally, the night went undocumented. The only proof the night existed was a morning raspy voice (from attempting Bohemian Rhapsody) and a watch on my wrist that I’ve wished for ages. A gift from Daron that will also get its fair share of daily abuse.

Finally got around to cutting my hair since my last summer cut. I can always trust my girl Tani at Sassoon Salon (in South Coast Plaza for all the locals - she's amazing!) to cut my hair once, and I will be happy for half a year. It finally got to a point of clunkiness I couldn't stand anymore. I think the most asked question I get from my blog is how I do my hair and here is a quick rundown to the extent of my knowledge.

Tani told me she cuts my hair from underneath and lets my top layers hang loose. Hair dresser lingo that doesn't really make sense to me. My hair texture is strange... wavy, kinks easily, thin but coarse, and I'm very, very specific on how it falls. It almost exhausts me explaining my hair situation, so I'm glad I finally found someone who understands my hair better than I do. Which led me to the discovery that being able to predict your hair is the foundation of a haircut that suits you.

Styling. I sleep with my hair wet (and shampoo it every other night), wake up to an unattractive, curly mess, then run a flat-iron through my hair to recreate waves. The previous beauty post has my Psssst bottle that I've almost used up; next product I want to try will be non-aerosol, so Clean dry shampoo it is. After I run dry-shampoo through my hair, I finger a dollop of Moroccan Oil. Love this stuff enough to rub it all over my body, but that would be a waste of money. This helps with frizz and weighs down my waves, which is good. When my hair is feeling flat (usually after a day or two of no shampoo), I use Bumble + Bumble surf spray or Kérestase Oléo-Curl, which smells like peaches and makes strangers stop to sniff.

Not sure why I’ve never made this post, other than the fact that I feel beauty-illiterate, but I love reading other people’s beauty tips, tricks, and products they love. I've been feeling experimental the past year and have racked up enough products to showcase a normal beauty/makeup routine.

CLEANING
I was introduced to Nude Cleansing Oil when I was suckered into scheduling a free facial at Bloomingdales. But during my session, the woman started to explain to me the hazards of chemicals in makeup that are in every day products we use: sulfates, mineral oils, lead… totally gross. She basically scared me into buying the Nude cleansing, but I don’t think I can turn back now. I did my share of research when I got home: these two links were the most helpful for me to understand and to prevent.

Every morning, I apply the Nude stuff on a dry face (kind of weird washing an oily face with more oil), brush my teeth, then wash off the cleanser in warm water. I usually prefer a one-hit-wonder though, something that can wash off my makeup in one hit and I found that Bliss Triple Oxygen Foam works really well. I love that it doesn’t make my face feel stripped after. I usually use that one in the shower.

After I wash my face, I tone it with Boots Rose Water. Love this stuff, and it smells amazing. My mom eventually got her own bottle after stealing mine. And for trouble spotting (like, god-forbid, zits...), I use Mario Badescu Drying Lotion and leave it on all night while I sleep, and I usually wake up to a more welcoming situation.

MOISTURIZING
I grew up with really oily skin, but now that I’m older, I have weird combination skin that gets either really dry or really oily depending on the environment. I have a cousin in his early teens that had unfortunate skin at the tender age of 13. I saw him two years later and his skin looked baby soft again! Just how I remembered him when he was still playing with Power Rangers. His secret (more like my aunt’s)? Organic jojoba oil, which is the closest oil to our skin's natural oil. The best method for me is to rub the oil into my face still wet then pat dry (the water helps soak in the moisture). Other worthy contenders: Kiehls Rosa rtica and Korres Yogurt Cream. I’d buy the Kiehls again, but I’m so skeptical of jar enclosed moisturizers because of bacteria (shudders), but I like the thickness and how it makes my skin glow. So if you guys have any recommendations that don’t come in a jar, please, please, please leave a comment below!

My makeup routine is pretty basic and hasn’t changed much the past year. For coverage, I use Make Up For Ever concealer then set it with Coty Airspun Powder before I start my day - I keep Chanel pressed powder in my purse for touch-ups. Urban Decay eyeliners are my favorite. They go on so smooth and have a huge array of colors. Currently using brown eye-shadow (Stray Dog) and a shimmer in the corner of my eyes. Their liquid eyeliner is also really easy to use. I’m not picky when it comes to mascara, usually drug-store brands work for me. But I go fors pidery lashes, so my friend taught me a trick to leave open a new mascara tube for a few hours to dry out - perfect spidery lashes!

A few other products I use after the moisturizing and before makeup: Naturopathica Vitamin K eye serum is a god-sent. It has a natural YSL Touche Eclat effect! Highly recommend it – sucks that it’s sold out though. SPF is one of those things I hated to wear because I can’t stand the smell of it and it usually feels heavier on my face than a normal cream. I figured I should suck it up and invest in sun protection. My favorite right now is Dr. Lewinn Wrinkle Repair daily cream and I also use Naturopathica lavender SPF
because it doesn’t smell like sunblock.

Forgot to snap a close up of my long-lived favorite boots (that I actually bought off a reader - how she parted with these, I don't know) paired with tri-blend socks from Target. I was only able to grab three pictures of my Thanksgiving meal before everyone pushed me aside impatiently to eat - thankful these two came out. Thanksgiving is the best holiday because it's the only time of the year anyone will make me candied yams.

Check out the cut of this Carven dress, if only it was in my size. I'm looking to treat myself with a modest, quirky dress to throw on for family gatherings. This Anna Sui is also a good candidate... let's see how Cyber Monday pans out.

It took me nearly a week to come down from my thrill of not only meeting Kelly Wearstler - but also enjoying an intimate dinner in her Beverly Hills home last month. I imagine the impression of entering her foyer to be in the ballpark range of how golden-ticket owners felt entering Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The pictorial walls, quirky furniture, multi-colored depth were all too familiar behind the screen of my laptop.

Notable frolicking aside, Kelly is pleasantly candid and grounded as she is talented. Don't have any pictures from the night since I didn't want the cumbersomeness of carrying a camera, but you should definitely check out her house for yourself. It made the drive back to Orange County seemingly duller than usual, but I at least have this blazer as a keepsake of the night.

All year, every year, I come up with thousands of ideas of things to be for Halloween. This year I planned a month in advance to be either Yuna from FFX2 or the Nyan Cat, but with non-existant party plans, I naturally procrastinated putting effort into costume making. The scarecrow happened when I realized I wasted my weekend and threw this together last minute to go to Disneyland - typical me. Thankful that Stylestalker sent me this dress in good timing. Apparently theme parks don't allow costumes, so I had to de-hay myself; but like every situation, Disneyland made everything better.

This must have been my parting outfit with summer taken a few weeks back on campus. Now spring colors are foreign, and crisp whites are being replaced by charcoal grays. But I guess the burnt orange can be translated year round. Tried out a hot pink lip color from Urban Decay’s super saturated line taken form in a chubby pencil that romanticizes the fat, wooden ones we attempted to use in fourth grade for bragging rights. Never was able to write a full sentence with those – small hands. Also a tad bummed my lipstick exploded in my book bag by means of not putting the cap on tight enough. I’m accident prone like that. Now I need to figure out a way to revive it… maybe with my eyeliner sharpener. A little skeptical – wish me luck.

So it really wasn't my intent to look like I hopped out of a resort collection, but I was keenly persistant to wear this jacket. And with no pretty pastel skirts at my disposal, I had to find some clever way to drape and bandage a valued button-down that has been blogged to death. Olivia was nearby to romanticize my outfit shots by cascading fallen rose petals per her idea. Each shot was as futile as the next, but the one with her arm probing into the frame with a blast of petals in my face was a winner. An even a bigger winner is a picture of a picture of us shoved into a Japanese photobooth (Sticki Picki's in Diamond Jamboree!).

This is the last of my outfits shots I took in New York. Had no idea wearing this dress would result in so much attention, particially because of how easily the wind picks up the train. Mentally noted for the next time.

Sooo friggen catchy.

Had lunch at The Dutch during my stay in New York. It's like a cozy, upscale pub smacked in SoHo. I enjoyed an albacore burger and shared a platter of oysters. Oysters were amazing but better than that, the french fries are the crispiest goodness ever - tastes almost like In n' Out's well-done fries but fresher! I loved my lunch even though I wasn't crazy over the burger (appetizers and everything else was good), but it probably helped that I didn't see the check.

Everything Kelly Wearstler touch turns to gold. Or brass. Or just plain perfection.

The transition to another "season" always puts me in a styling rut, especially colder weather. Fall colors aren't looking especially pleasing to me, so maybe I'll take some notes to layer in different textures of black.

Debuting my awesome vintage dress altered then adorned for the Teen Vogue party. It was decades ago... but that goes to show how behind I am on blogging. Magically framed braids around the front of my crown and took these pictures while waiting for traffic to die down. Alongside braid accessorizing were bright red-coral lips. The party took place at Paramount Studios where I danced with my blogger family to Solange Knowles' beats. But the highlight of the night is what happened after the party: Roscoes Chicken and Waffles happened.

Seems like forever ago when I took these pictures with Natalie before the Lucky FAAB conference; apparently can't keep a straight face around her either. Slightly delusional from lack of sleep to combine tribal and hounds tooth together whilst praying I don’t look like a clown. I also trimmed my hair a bit before leaving for New York... regretfully putting bangs in place. Yeah, worst decision ever. The day my bangs reach my chin is the day I'm chopping my hair back into a bob.

Few favorite moments at the FAAB conference: realizing how much I secretly love the Kardashians, hearing my buddy John Jannuzzi talk about the World Wide Web, uh – that GIFTBAG (more on that later), and blissfully watching Elie Goulding as our guest performer. I even found myself on a rooftop overlooking the city a few days later watching her perform again. Seriously magical... you Lucky people are too good to me.

My last night in New York ended with some decadent debauchery at the Seven NY / Oyster Magazine party. I think I ended up getting only 1.5 hours of sleep prior to boarding my plane. My case seemed convenient compared to Rachel (so confusing hanging out with something with the same name) who complained of an early 6AM flight. She also told us this while perched in front of Tribeca at 2:30AM... which earned her worried looks since she hadn't realized she had to be at the airport in less than two hours. Bumping into the elusive Bambi was also a pleasure. Disappointingly not me behind the camera, kinda stole these pictures from my friend Doug.

Not that I was initially confused, but seeing this dress on the model makes a ton more sense than how I thought to wear it. Guess I'm going to give it another shot sometime this week. Took these pictures prior to a night of cold beers sidelining Laguna Beach with Theodore (whose birthday just passed this weekend 9/11 - Happy birthday!). Pretty bummed I wasn't around to celebrate it with him since I was busy loitering New York during fashion week - more on that later. Unplugging myself wasn’t premeditated and actually sort of happened through a series of unfortunate events. If you follow me on Twitter, you might have read that I lost my grandfather midweek, last week then spent most of Labor Day weekend with my family for the memorial. I do miss him dearly, but I can’t be sad because he is in a better place. Thank you to all who have sent your condolences.

Strange how you never notice the desire to ground yourself until you’re forced to do so. Spending time away from a computer to laugh, cry, and eat with my family was the best way to immerse myself in real life – just in time to clear my head for New York tonight! Can't wait to congregate with my babes and buddies 4200 miles away from here.

Quick musings over this top: sifted through poorly made sequin tops and old Forever 21 donations at a thrift store and instantly was enamored by this quirky piece. I had it for a while but I was never sure how to wear it, weather and style permitting. The shirt doesn't breathe, so it gets too hot. It also doesn’t cover enough, so it gets too cold. I ended up wearing it in Long Beach where the bipolar weather matched my bipolar top and was able to remain fairly comfortable. That is, until I tackled this pile which broke me into a soft sweat

Excited to see this band tomorrow at Mesa! I first saw them open for Foster the People and have been following them since.

Stole this picture off Yelp because I didn't have my camera. Shaub shabu is probably one of my favorite methods to eat because I feel like some sort of mad scientist given the reigns to cook my own food. I normally get two plates of veggie versus one beef and one veggie. Since you're poaching the food and not grilling, it is so much healthier! It's a fun atmosphere and California Shabu Shabu in Costa Mesa is easily one of my favorite shabu houses!

How sick is this top? It reminds me of Proenza prints paired perfectly with quirky cutouts and a mini skirt-thing at the waist. Wore it down with one of my favorite patched-up jeans and thinly strapped heels. Thought it was an appropriate outfit to shop around Melrose and lug bags of clothes to sell at Wasteland Alas, it’s nearing the end of the week and my cold udon noodles cravings are coming back stronger than ever. Can’t wait to slurp some down this weekend and maybe go to the movie theater. Something I forget I love doing so much.

I had already given up on chasing down the sun to grab a quick shot of my outfit. But, this little spot caught my eye right before jumping on the freeway to the Chrissie Miller party. We had fun playing against the transparent, sun drenched garage in front of an audience sitting in traffic towards the on-ramp. Except, not really.

This skirt just gets better with age and accidental rips. And sadly pruning my hats because they just don't look good with short hair. However, I'm replenishing my stash with smaller-brimmed hats before I notice a shortage of closet selection come Fall.

This was like the bridging event helping gap New York and LA together in the works of Kanon and it's been awesome joining along for the ride. Slouching over some Yogurtland after being cooped in bed all day and painting my nails like a galaxy (so easy!! I used this DIY). Figured that it's probably best to get out of the house (sans energy regarded) for some fresh air than to harvest a flu in my home. The soothing sensation of cold yogurt felt so amazing when you can't breathe on top of the heat, but an hour later I was ready to pass out in bed again. Bad idea because a two hour nap translated to a restless night where my wide-awake boredom tempted me to pick up the first Harry Potter book and start all over again.

On top of a building at my friend's new home in downtown LA. Makes me wish I lived somewhere cool like an old toy factory. This dress somewhat reminds me of a Parisian café, so I wore it with one of my favorite boots to toughen it up – or something of that nature. But it’s the excessive pleating and black on white ribbonery that got me giddy enough to put a big black bow in my hair (sadly can’t be seen in the pictures). Kept my jewels to a minimum except for a thinly gold-chained necklace that I haven’t taken off upon receipt. There’s an interesting spider-webbed wiring that encloses a pretty druzy stone too which adds to my desire to wear it 24/7.

Anyway, fighting a miserable cold right now that I'm hoping to pass before this weekend in time for an art opening party at Space 15 Twenty. Is anyone going?

A rather gloomy, warm day at Laguna Beach with Natalie. Despite our coastal relationship, we've somehow managed to visit each other lots, each warranting pictures to our sartorial freedom. During her stay here, I wanted to cram at least one beach day over the 4th of July weekend without having to battle two hours of traffic and drunk frat boys by simply going the day before. Wore a bathing suit and sunglasses designed by the talented Norma Kamali. Yeah... I've been dying for a pair since my last birthday - proof in the post. And, what better way to finish off a very 50s-inspired look with ruby red lips?

Painfully wore this outfit straight from the airplane to my meetings, each one apologizing for the sloppy eye-sore coupled with a comment about the intense New York heat. But it's okay, touch-ups were done in the cab as I was thankful to have stuffed all my makeup and refreshments into my purse. It was a party favor from Coach's blogger dinner in LA a few weeks prior. Felt a little ashamed that I didn't know much about the history of the purse, but Net-a-Porter relaunched all the classic bags that brought Coach to where they are today. Duly noted when I was stopped by elderly strangers who were fascinated by my pristine vintage purse. "No, no", I would say, as I amateurly explained how it was reproduced or something like it... worn with my most tattered, beat up boots. Can't tell if the "fake leather" is fading or if the "real leather" is sooo scratched up from excessive wear for the days I walk a lot... or would need to run in heels for whatever reason.

It was bound to happen - if you follow my Twitter at all, you'll probably notice the embarrassing plethora Disneyland tweets (as well at the token, novel avatar of me in Minnie ears) - hence only a matter of time before my obsession shows up my blog. Probably not the most convenient of outfits to wear... but an annual pass has its perks: like the days you ponder what you should do within your 3.5 hour gap between classes, then you realize you're fifteen minutes away from the happiest place on earth. Suddenly you don't care if you need to juggle a clutch and icecream while rushing to beat the lines at California Screamin' in high-heeled booties... because you're at the happiest place on earth with the guy that makes you feel like you're the happiest person on earth. Then pinched toes in 85 degree heat don't seem as painful.

Wearing the prettiest of pretty chiffon blouses from Foley and Corrina in an impromptu pseudo-practice-photoshoot with my friend Vu from Threadsense. I got a call after a long day from work that he wanted to practice some camera techniques, so naturally I offered my body as the subject of his pictorial. We stumbled on a massive garden grid in the middle of Irvine and shot a few pics before sunset.

New York was exciting as it was short - seeing those familiar faces made my trip. A few meetings later, I'm excited to get started on new projects that I can't wait to share with you guys! Once I got home, I just wanted to just slow down after the rush of finals and traveling to fully immerse myself in thoughts I forgot to think about and friends that I missed. Now my mental vacation is coming to a quick halt as summer school starts next week. Noooo!

A few posts back, I mentioned I cut my hair. Here is it, sans 3 inches in all its glory. It took some time getting used to, especially being mistaken for my mom more often than not. But I'm enjoying the ability to tuck one side back and it be out of my face the entire day. I'm also impulsively a few shades lighter. Not sure why I spend all this time repenting asian hair when at the end of the day, I wish I was my natural hair color. Crave change; want normalcy. Nonetheless, I am loving the breath of fresh air. Will be posting a video soon of my haircut with Sassoon later this week - stay tuned.

Also, hope you guys are all having a relaxing Memorial Day weekend so far! The extra rest is much needed after feeling my head's been muddled with a bunch of to-dos but not enough time to do them. You've probably already seen Carmen and Ken's work with other bloggers, hence why I am so grateful to be in an awesome league of stylish people featured on How I Met Your Style! Carmen and my dad had a bonding moment after he was inspired by their knack for photography thus showing us his college photography portfolio. coast to coast with samsung

I’m working on this extremely cool project with Samsung that I am so excited to finally share with you guys! This past month, Samsung has been on a huge road trip, as my title permits, from coast to coast! Along the way they’ve made friends with a bunch of online influencers from YouTubers to mommy bloggers, and with each person they met, they gave them a Samsung SH100. I absolutely love their campaign: passing around a camera from one person to another capturing the personality and living style of different views across the nation! But what made the project even cooler… was the camera they were promoting; it has Wifi capabilities and you can immediately upload your pictures on Facebook! So that’s what they did, they wandered around and uploaded pictures as they went as you see it all happen live on their Facebook page.

Before I run off and do Saturday things like being stressed at the post-office or finally using my Fandango tickets to watch at movie (opting for Bridesmaids), I wanted share these pictures I took a while ago on a much warmer day than today. I recently was introduced to Pencey and I think they're based in NYC, but consider me obsessed with Pencey's color palette (that already plagues my closet) and subtle-flashes-of-skin aesthetic. And with only an hour drive away - it surprised me that we didn't meet up sooner. What blogger meet-up would be complete without an embarrassing impromptu photo shoot, in my case, modeling awkwardly next to (and on) a motorcycle while people staring heavily at our lost sartorial cause.

A perk of going to school conveniently located by the coast is being able to squeeze in sand time between brunch and classes. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit during the morning gloom at the edge of the sand, staring into an abnormally deserted beach sans tourists and kids. It wasn’t quite warm enough to hit the beach yet, and I was sorely misguided by what seemed like sunny weather, only to realize the suspended marine layer still hadn’t passed. Sort of sluggish from a food coma and warm only from this last minute jacket sitting in my car (and to think people look down on me for making my car a second closet), staring at my slashed jacket confused me as much as it entertained me. I never believed Elie Tahari to be so daring with their designs, but this has to be one of my favorite pieces from their Spring 2011 line. I especially love how it was styled on the runway with just a bikini top and some slouchy, mico-mini shorts. A similar outfit would have followed on my end weather-permitting. Each piece in the entire collection provokes an effortless edge and when you have a silk scarf that makes the perfect bandana/headband, how could you resist your inner swashbuckler?

Elie Tahari contacted me during February's fashion week to attend their show but sadly I wasn't in town. I think I stepped into an Elie Tahari store like once in my life prior to developing my own style, and I must say I'm floored by their newest seasons adorned with charming pieces all so effortlessly beautiful and perfect for every occasion. We kept in contact for several months via email and then Allisa sent me a package of hand-selected items she thought fit my style. I was completely overwhelmed by all the silhouettes and colors I already naturally gravitate towards: muted neutrals, flashy pops of gold, a bustier to show off skin, and liquid-like leather. That said, I am so, so excited to style and blog a four-piece installment for Elie Tahari's blog as I have fallen head-over-heels for the brand!

Always on the search for the perfect leather jacket, and with the occasional chill factor right now, it's almost common sense owning a nice jacket to throw over your spring dress. Thankfully I was introduced to Muubaa, who designs surprisingly affordable leather jackets in all the silhouettes I want.

long week

Have been too swamped from early morning to late night every day this week to post these pictures from last Sunday, which was probably the last day I felt relaxed and apparently thought it was a good idea to straighten my hair for the day. The bittersweet epiphany of my strange enjoyment of having straight hair took me back to high school when I begged my mom to get it permed. Soooo glad she convinced me that having naturally wavy was somewhat covetable. But, my poor hair has been worn straight almost every day this week. Gotta use some sort of moisturizer or whatever hair needs.

Pretty eventful week consisting of having long dinner conversations with one of my best friends on a random weekday, stealing pretty pink flowers to throw in a jar of water at home, whipping my hair back-and-forth to Christine djing and Fartbarf performing, ensuring I vicariously live through all my drunken friends as the DD, meeting a bunch of people I constantly email but have never met face to face (hi Elizabeth, Ryann, and Logan!), suffering the aftermath of a jalapeno margarita, snuggling with the office dog who I taught how to ‘lay’ and ‘sit’, giggling over Modern Family re-runs after a late night rendezvous, and playing catch up on all the school work I’ve missed. Seriously, can’t wait for this week to be over! Planning on going to the Huntington Library with my boyfriend this weekend as well as catching up with old friends. Happy Friday everyone and hope you all have an great weekend! xx

Zara jacket. Sold jeans. Vintage belt and purse. ASOS boots.
Throwing in a couple of my favorite pieces for the most basic uniform ever. I don't think I've featured these jeans on my blog, yet I wear them all the time. I even think they're classified under "jeggings", but I just turn a blind eye. What I love most about the cut is that it stops right at the ankle which convinced me to hem all my jeans shorter. Another closet-changing staple is that beautiful gold belt. A product most likely sold in Santee Alley for its unyielding "leather" and questionable quality (found it at a thrift store though), but I've accepted the future devastation when it self-destructs on me on a day I need it most.
