The Clashing of Trends

I still find it really hard to break into Spring/Summer mode when I'm still loving the dark colors. Even so, The Sartorialist is still posting inspiring pictures of girls in their leather jackets (it's hard to part away from a great staple) and black outfits. Well, as much as I'd love to pull off those looks in California, I don't think I can justify myself to wear anything that covers my shoulders and legs. It is just getting way too hot.
Yet, after a week of heavily graded projects, I seriously needed to unwind. Even my boyfriend could tell I was extremely stressed, so he took me out on an amazing date: secluded beach with coves and tide pools, veggie burgers for lunch, Angel's game, Iron Man the movie, Mexican food for dinner, and a pool / jacuzzi session (yes, cram that into one day). Now that I'm relaxed, I feel I can take the on the world, or maybe four finals concentrated into three days.

Love your blog. The dress looks so fab on you...you are so lucky. I saw it in the store and if I were to wear I think it'd look totally cheesy because it's chiffon and kind of dressy. But it really does look great on you! (I tried to buy it online but they only have larges left. BOo!) I think you should keep the bangs...they're edgy. I'm envious haha. I'm chinese/vietnames/french and I'm ASSUMING you're from...Fountain Valley/Huntington Beach (I grew up in Newport, my cousin's from Fountain Valley so that's why I assumed so.)ANYWAY, yeah, not very many asian girls can pull of blunt bangs but you can and do so I say keep them so I can live vicariously through you. You can live vicariously through my boring old Nicole Richie-esque side bangs. Blah.

does that dress have a great fit or what! You have a long, oval face with no standout features(i.e. no big nose)so I'd say you can pull off pretty much any hair style. go for it!

James is certainly my pride and joy boyfriend who dresses well -- occasionally. We all know that men have this quirky attitude to absorb every ounce of glorification (even slight ones) into their ego system. Therefore, I have to tone it down a little. He blushes and rubs it in my face everytime he gets a shoutout, but yes, the boy dresses himself. You'd think he'd be too tall and lanky to do it himself, hah.

Lilly - It's actually ironic, James lives in Fountain Valley, and I live in Irvine. It's the new Fountain Valley maybe? Yeah, I had the N-dog bangs for a good four years and was desperate for change, but I honestly think I stuck with it for so long because it suits me.
After playing with my hair in the mirror, I'm becoming hesitant about the hair chopping, but we'll see, but google Gwyneth's new hair! It's fabulous! She's fabulous!
I'm done with finals, school, and first year, so let the blogging continue!

I love the clashy of the textures on other people, in street style blogs, and obviously on you, but in real life I just feel so.. awkward. I am not tall and too busty to play that game. Le sigh. That dress is divine though!
I always thought, why does this girl not show her face in the pic when she's pretty? yeah it's bout the outfit but it's better to show your face as well! you're cute!
